Musharraf’s name to remain in ECL: Kh Asif

Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif has said that name of former president Pervez Musharraf will not be excluded from Exit Control List.
Talking to a private TV channel, Asif brushed aside the rumours regarding a secret deal with the former president and said that any secret deal with Pervez Musharraf is out of question. He said the former president is being provided best medical facilities in Pakistan.
Khwaja Asif categorically stated that Musharraf’s name will not be removed from Exit Control List (ECL) at any cost.
He said that Government of Pakistan is a plaintiff in the treason case against Musharraf, adding that investigation should also be carried out over billions of rupees in the former ruler’s bank accounts.
The minister was of the view that Musharraf did not respect the law in the past and he is not respecting law now either.
He urged the former military dictator to contest his case, as the case is already in the court.
He also clarified rumors of pressure being exerted by countries like Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates on the issue, he added.
