KP CM de-notifies appointment of 13 parliamentary secretaries

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Thursday de-notified as many as 13 parliamentary secretaries with immediate effect, read an official handout.
The de-notified secretaries are PK-3 MPA Javed Nasim, PK-7 MPA Mehmood Jan, PK-9 MPA Arbab Jehandad Khan, PK-15 MPA Muhammad Idrees, PK-19 MPA Arshad Ali, PK-22 MPA Muhammad Arif, PK-24 MPA Zahid Durrani, PK-51 MPA Gohar Nawaz Khan, PK-68 MPA Javed Akbar Khan, PK-81 Azizullah Khan, Naseem Hayat, Bibi Fozia and Khatoon Bibi. It was notified by the Administration Department.
Though no reason was cited regarding de-notification, but it is believed that some of them are likely to be made part of the cabinet. Officials and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf office-bearers believe that PTI Chairman Imran Khan has approved reshuffling of the provincial cabinet.
One of the secretaries, Javed Akbar Khan from PK-68 Dera Ismail Khan, has been disqualified for contesting elections on a fake degree. Whereas the assembly membership of Azizullah, PTI lawmaker from PK-81 Swat, has been suspended. The Election Commission of Pakistan has ordered re-polling on around 22 polling stations in his constituency.
Another two secretaries, Arshad Ali from PK-19 and Gohar Nawaz Khan from PK-51, are affiliated to the Qaumi Watan Party. PTI Chairman Imran Khan forced the QWP to leave the treasury benches over corruption charges.
Khatoon Bibi is associated with the Awami Jamhoori Ittehad whereas the rest of the secretaries were PTI members. No one from the Jamaat-e-Islami is among those de-notified secretaries. The JI’s three MPAs are currently holding parliamentary secretary offices in the KP government.
