Armed militants torched a tanker carrying fuel for US and NATO troops in Afghanistan and killed its driver in Balochistan’s troubled Khuzdar district.
A police official said that armed militants on motorcycles opened fire at the tanker in the Baghbana area of Khuzdar, killing one and injuring another two persons.
“The driver was killed on the spot,” he said.
After the firing, the militants approached the tanker and set it n on fire before speeding away on their motorcycles.
Levies and police personnel reached the spot as the investigation went underway.
Nobody has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

We repeat what the U.S. state department spokesman said recently: “More broadly, the United States and Pakistan continue to have a vital, shared strategic interest in ending extremist violence so as to build a more prosperous, stable, and peaceful region.”
Our deepest and most heartfelt condolences go out to the friends and family of the driver who died in this attack. We hope that his friends and family will find the strength to deal with this tragedy.
