Creation of new provinces must for equitable distribution resources: Altaf

New provinces should be created to ensure equitable distribution of the country’s resources, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said on Tuesday.

Addressing the MQM Rabita Committee, Altaf said creation of new provinces was essential to do away with the sense of inferiority among various communities in Pakistan.

Asserting that administrative units needed to be created at a war footing, the MQM chief said all parties conferences should also be called to decide on such matters, adding that if new provinces were formed, they would add to the well-being of the state.

Altaf said new provinces was also the need of the hour because the rapid increase in population.

He said in order to resolve differences between various communities it was essential that “realistic” polices were developed and implemented.

Shortly after the address, MQM leader Farooq Sattar said in order to resolve the challenges facing the country, “there’s no harm in creating more administrative units and no harm in creating more provinces”.

He said the MQM chief had asked for one more APC to be called because “one conference was not enough”.

Sattar said the next APC should focus on the day-to-day problems faced by the citizens such as an increase in prices and unemployment.
