Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has claimed arrest of five culprits in the issue of harassing women after a rally on Mall Road in Lahore on May 1.

The arrests were allegedly made in the first information report lodged by the party after women participants of Lahore rally were wronged while exiting the venue.

According to Party’s Member, Uzma Kardar, the legal team of the party will meet with the police investigators and inquire about the details of interrogation and other related matters.

She further said that details of the interrogation would be brought to the knowledge of the public.

In the aftermath of the situation, PTI Chairman Imran Khan had postponed rally in Faisalabad citing lack of trust on Punjab Police.

He said that the party does not trust the police after what happened in Lahore.

Imran Khan received flak from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) women followers among other members. In a press conference held regarding the incident, PML-N’s women members accused Khan of not being able to protect women in his rallies while eyeing country’s leadership.

In response to which, Kardar and other women members of the opposition party held a counter-media talk and defended Khan.
