The election tribunal of the Peshawar High Court, headed by Justice Shahjee Rahman, on Monday suspended the Election Commission of Pakistan results in PK-90 Chitral and ordered recounting on September 12.
The tribunal made this decision on a writ petition filed by Pakistan People’s Party candidate Sardar Hussain. Haji Ghulam Muhammad of the All Pakistan Muslim League was elected from the constituency in May 11, 2013 general elections.
Ghulam Muhammad had got 10,848 votes whereas Sardar Hussain had got 10,841 votes. Recounting on this constituency was earlier held under the supervision of the Chitral district returning officer.
