Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday approved a master plan for Cholistan’s Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park Project.
The approval of the project was given during a high level meeting of the Punjab Energy Council chaired by the CM.
The energy park project will generate 700 MWs of electricity. In the first phase of establishment, the Punjab government will install eight solar projects of 50 MW each.
The CM announced that solar projects capable of generating 700 MWs would be installed over 10,000 yards of land provided by the Punjab government.
He directed the authorities concerned for the immediate commencement of development works on the project after its approval.
The move of the provincial government would help eliminate Pakistan’s longstanding energy crisis.
