A single bench of the Islamabad High Court on Friday summoned the Aabpara SHO for not complying with the court’s order of registering an FIR against former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf.
The court directed the SHO to appear before the court on Tuesday.
In response to a contempt of court petition filed by Haroonur Raheed Ghazi, son of Ghazi Abudl Rahsid, Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi also sought a reply from Islamabad SSP Dr Rizwan, asking him to clear the police’s position for not registering the FIR as ordered.
The petitioner, through his lawyer Tariq Asad, told the court that after the IHC order, he had approached the Abpara Police Station for registration of the FIR, but the SHO and the SSP refused to comply with the court’s order.
To this, Justice Qureshi summoned the SHO on the next hearing and issued a notice to the SSP. The court fixed the matter for September 2.
In light of the IHC’s earlier order, the former president, who is already facing trial in three high-profile cases, could face two more murder cases, those of former Lal Masjid cleric Ghazi Abdur Rasheed and his mother.
On July 12, the IHC had ordered the police to register an FIR against Musharraf if there was cognisable offence.
In the petition, the plaintiff had requested the court to direct the police to register an FIR against the former president on the charges of killing his father and grandmother. He contended that his father and grandmother had been killed in the military operation ordered by the former president.
This is a malicious attempt of this cheap justice to implicate Musharraf
The IHC court says if there is a evidence then do FIR but no body has proved that there is actually any evidence that Musharraf was directly responsible for this operation .
This was state act and no body should dare to involve Musharraf in this case : If that was done then the case should be registered against General Kiyani for operation in Northern areas and Baluchistan who is indirectly responsible for the lives lost there .Will any body dare to do that?? For God sake let justice be prevailed
