The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday sought the schedule of load shedding hours during the holy month of Ramadan from the federal government.
LHC Chief Justice Umer Ata Bandial heard the case pertaining to the unannounced load shedding being carried out in Punjab.
The petitioner’s advocate told the court that the government has not provided any relief to the masses, even in the holy month of Ramadan. The counsel for federal government said that load shedding was not carried out during Iftar, Sehri and Taraweeh timings.
Justice Bandial asked what measures had been taken to control load shedding during Ramadan. He said the government should take practical steps to deal with the issue.
The court summoned the record of load shedding from the government and adjourned the hearing until next week.
