Power shortfall reaches 5,500MW

The electricity shortfall has increased up to 5,500MW across the country and unannounced load shedding has reached up to 18 hours a day.

Media reports said the production of electricity was recorded at 12,800MW, while the demand stood at 18,300MW.

Owing to the increased shortfall of electricity, the demand of electricity has reached 2,500MW in Lahore and the duration of unannounced power outage has crossed 18 hours in both urban and rural areas.

Unannounced and long hours of outages across the country have not only disturbed business activities, but also routine life of citizens across the country.
