Dar announces 10% increase in govt employees salaries

Finally, some good news came for extremely disappointed and agitated government employees when finance minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday announced a 10 percent increment in salaries.

Talking to media outside Parliament house, Dar said the committee formed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif recommended increase in salaries by 7 percent to 10 percent.

The minister said that government has to bear an extra Rs. 16.5 billion in this regard.

Dar said the government has already increased pension from Rs. 3000 to Rs.5,000 but Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif directed to increase salaries of government employees as well.

    Giving 10% rise to poor people and not bringing the higher earners in tax bracket is another cheat and unfair act Dar must be asked in Parliament on the very issues. There should be 15 to 20% rise for public servants. which are low paid
