Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and former Punjab governor Latif Khosa on Thursday said his party had decided to vote for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif for the position of prime minister.
“The PPP is ready to cooperate with the PML-N on national issues while sitting on opposition benches,” Khosa stated.
Khursheed Shah, who has been nominated by the PPP for the post of opposition leader in the National Assembly, also said the party wanted the continuation of the democratic process and that was why it would support the PML-N government on national issues.
He hoped the PML-N chief would implement the remaining clauses of the Charter of Democracy, including the establishment of a constitutional court.
Replying to a question, he said, if required, the PPP would back the government for constitutional amendments keeping in view larger national interests.
No surprise there.
The Nawaz PML gave the pathetic and incompetent PPP government an easy ride for 5 long, painful and wasted years. Now I guess the PPP have to give Nawaz pay back by giving him an easy term in office
