Acting Chief Election Commissioner Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jilani on Wednesday ordered election tribunals to dispose of all cases in 120 days.
He said the general elections were fair and transparent and this time turnout in Balochistan was graceful as compared to previous tenures.
Justice Jilani, who arrived on one-day visit to Quetta, was talking to reporters at the airport. He said that he had received complaints from different corners of the country about delay in the disposal of petitions. That is why the number of election tribunals has been multiplied, with the direction that all the cases should be disposed of within 120 days, he added.
He said that approximately 90 percent polling was fair and transparent but unluckily some negative-minded sections of the society committed rigging, making the transparency of the elections doubtful.
