Khoso directs authorities to set up joint task force to deal with rising terrorism

A high-level meeting chaired by Interim Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso on Friday decided to form a joint task force to deal with the rising incidents of terrorism ahead of the general election scheduled for May 11.

Khoso convened a meeting at the Sindh Governor’s House to take stock the prevailing law and order in the province, and especially in Karachi.

In the meeting, it was decided that a joint task force, comprising federal and provincial law enforcing agencies, be formed to deal with the growing incidents of terrorism.

The caretaker prime minister expressed the resolve to break the nexus of terrorists. He said such incidents were an attempt to sabotage the election process.

He directed the FC, the Rangers and the police to jointly move against terrorists. It was also decided in the meeting that close circuit cameras would be installed at sensitive polling stations in Karachi.

The meeting also decided that an all-party conference, convened by the interim Sindh government on April 30, will be taken into confidence about measures being taken to improve the law and order.
