A Sahiwal judge issued arrest orders for former parliamentarian Pir Wilayat Shah Khagga in a fake degree case on Tuesday.
District and Sessions Judge Mushtaq Ahmad Warraich ordered the authorities to submit a challan into the case by April 30.
Nazar Muhammad Fityana, Khagga’s political rival, had filed a petition on April 16 stating that the police were deliberately not arresting the former parliamentarian despite the fact that an FIR had been registered against him.
Upon which, the police told the court that it had conducted raids but the accused had absconded. They said the police had declared him a proclaimed offender.
The proceedings were then adjourned until April 30.
