Offering condolences over loss of lives in Tuesday’s massive earthquake, US Secretary of State John Kerry has said his country was ready to assist in the difficult hour.
The US diplomat issued a statement to express solidarity with victims of the 7.8 quake that originating inside Iran along the Pakistani border wreaked havoc in Balochistan.
“The United States sends our deepest condolences for those lost in the earthquake in southeastern Iran and western Pakistan,” Kerry said.
The quake destroyed houses, property and infrastructure in Balochistan province, killing and injuring dozens of people while its tremors rocked cities across the country.
“Our thoughts are with the families of those who were killed, those who were injured, and with those communities that have suffered damage to homes and property. We stand ready to offer assistance in this difficult time,” Kerry added.
