The electricity shortfall in the country increased to 3,200MW on Tuesday as the total power generation was recorded as 8,950MW against the demand of 12,150MW during the last 24 hours.
According to the brief on daily power generation and load-management position, the hydro generation stood at 2,300MW, WAPDA thermal at 1,380MW and IPPs at 5,270MW.
It said 570MW of electricity were supplied to the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC).
