20 prominent scientists, engineers receive civil awards

On behalf of the President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Chairman General Khalid Shameem Wynne conferred civil awards on eminent scientists and engineers at an investiture ceremony held at JSHQ on Tuesday.
“The scientists and engineers working in Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, Dr A Q Khan Research Laboratory, National Engineering and Scientific Commission and Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission were granted awards for their meritorious services,” said an ISPR press release.
Out of the total 20 awardees, three officials received a Sitara-i-Imtiaz, 12 officials received Pride of Performance and 5 officials received Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.
Name of the recipients of Sitara-i-Imtiaz were Muhammad Jameel Rahi, Mohsin Agha and Haris Ahmed Butt (whose award was posthumously received by Shazia Haris).
The Pride of Performance was awarded to Muhammad Iftikhar Ahmad, Ziaullah, Rafaqat Ali Mughal, Saddia Chaudhary, Zahid Ahmad, Wajih Anwar, Dr Asif Hameed, Dr Muhammad Aleem Mirza, Dr Abdul Manan, Air Commodore (R) Muhammad Imran Akram, Amer Serfraz Ahmad and Muhammad Iqbal Rao. Tamgha-i-Imtiazwas awarded to Muhammad Mazhar-i-Alam, Khalil-ur- Rehman, Irfan Aslam, Muhammad Usman Sadiq and Muhammad Omer Pervaiz.
