The government and opposition in Balochistan have developed consensus on the name of Ghaus Bakhsh Barozai for caretaker chief minister.
The announcement was made by Chief Minister Aslam Raisani and Opposition Leader Tariq Magsi at a joint news conference on Thursday.
JUI-F’s central leader Abdul Wassay, and ANP’s Zamrak Achakzai were also present.
Raisani said the decision proved that they had completed the constitutional and democratic process in the best possible way. He claimed that his government had done record development schemes in the last five years.
He demanded Reko Diq and GawadarPort be handed over to the Balochistan government while the province should also get royalty from Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline.
Magsi said they had been holding talks since Wednesday and had agreed on Barozai’s appointment as caretaker chief minister of the province.
