Young scientists showcase projects at fair

The Intel Pakistan Thursday announced the winners of national science fair who would represent Pakistan at the intel international science and engineering fair (ISEF) 2013 in Phoenix, USA. Over 200 young `scientists’ from all across Pakistan showcased their projects at the event held in Islamabad. The projects displayed at the national science fair were assessed by a panel of renowned judges. At the ISEF, a programme of society for science and the public, the world’s largest international pre-college science fair, provides an annual forum for more than 1,500 high school students from around the globe to compete for over US $ 3 million in awards and scholarships. The winners of the group projects were: Fatima Moin Veera, Hania Hasan, Umme Salma Shabbir Gadriwala – Mama Parsi Girls Secondary School, Karachi; Qaiser Ali Shah, Ali Yezdan, Sajid Khan – Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Gilgit. Winners of individual projects: Javaria Nisar – Government Girls Higher Secondary School Singhpura, Lahore: Haris Bin Ashraf – Defense Authority Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zaid College, Karachi; Isa Bin Qasim – PakTurk International School and Colleges, Peshawar; Muhammad Ahsan Nawaz – Government Model High School, Mailsi, Vehari.
