Like other parts of the globe, World Cancer Day will be observed in Pakistan on February 4 with an aim to create awareness among public about the disease. Nuclear Institute of Medicines and Radiotherapy (NIMRA) Director Dr Naim Leghari informed here on Wednesday that the commemoration started in 2005 as a part of the world cancer campaign, which followed the world summit against cancer in the new millennium in 2000. Many international organisations hold awareness campaign and fund raising events on this day, he said, adding that world health organization and international union against cancer are very active in this cause.
