Educational institutions, public transport and markets remained shut in Karachi on Friday in the wake of three-day mourning announced by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) over the killing of its MPA Manzar Imam with three of his body guards on Thursday evening, a private TV channel reported.
Earlier, Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI) had announced to keep public transport off the roads.
Examinations in Karachi Univesity (KU) were postponed due to the prevalent law and order in the metropolis.
Imam was laid to rest at Shuhada graveyard after funeral prayers at Jinnah Ground, while the bodies of his three bodyguards were sent to Orangi Town for burial.
