The Imran Khan Foundation (IKF) on Thursday announced that it will provide emergency relief for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Waziristan.
In a statement, the foundation said that the relief project was worth approximately Rs 30,000,000, with almost Rs 12,000 per beneficiary family. The statement further said that the relief efforts would focus on the “unnoticed” victims of the War on Terror, refugees of the Mehsud Tribe and those who fled from their homes in North Waziristan.
Moreover, the statement said that the project aimed to provide emergency food relief of 20 kilogrammes of flour, 5 kilogrammes of lentils, 1 kilogramme of sugar, 1 kilogram of ghee to selected families. In addition, each selected family would be provided two shawls and two medium thermal blankets, as well as a temporary shelter of one waterproof tent to help them pass the harsh winter conditions, the statement said.
Furthermore, the statement said, “To date, the Mehsud Tribe has received no assistance or even recognition of their plight by the Pakistan government.
Having been relocated at least three times, the Mehsud Tribe IDPs are now in District Tank, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”
Commenting on the relief efforts, IKF National Programme Manager Isfundiar Kasuri, said, “Despite this being a no-go area, with deteriorating law and order, we at the Imran Khan Foundation felt it essential to step forward to help our fellow countrymen in this hour of need. 2,600 of the displaced families are being provided assistance for the very first time, in some of the most underserved and remote areas of Pakistan.”

We'll one lives in hope that our votes count, and for the first time in Pakistan history there is no vote rigging or political assassinations. It is going to be like a powder keg needing a spark. We wait for the prophecy of the Quran to be fulfilled unfortunately none of the leaders including those of the PTI meet those criteria. We need an Islamic Khalifa System. We wait and pray but will get the same of the old again and again like a bad dream ad-infiinitum.
