Banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Tuesday denied that the terror outfit had threatened to attack the long march announced for January 14 by Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran chief Dr Tahirul Qadri.
TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan phoned foreign media that the terror group had not threatened attack on Qadri long march.
“This is not true, we have not issued any threat to attack the long march,” Ehsan told the media.
“We have no comments for the long march,” he added.
Earlier, Interior Minister Abdul Rehman Malik had said that Taliban militants have threatened to attack a rally seeking electoral reforms.
He announced, “TTP has threatened to attack the long march,” Malik told reporters in a joint press conference with Qadri. But we will not stop the long march and provide them full security.”
