Pakistan will convene a ministerial-level open debate in the UN Security Council on a comprehensive approach to counter terrorism on January 15.
Ambassador Masood Khan‚ who holds the Security Council presidency for this month‚ said that the meeting to be chaired by Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar will provide an opportunity to have a holistic view of the continuing threats and challenges posed by international terrorism.
The meeting will also formulate and implement a coherent and comprehensive response to the menace.
Pakistani also plans an open debate in the council on UN peacekeeping on 21 January.
