Malala Yousufzai?

I am at a loss to understand the worldwide recognition and treatment given to Malala. And now her name has been nominated for Nobel Peace Prize and she will get that too. The President of Pakistan takes a special trip to Birmingham and then to Paris for Malala Seminar. She gets now ‘Daughter of Pakistan’ title. George Brown, apparently has no occupation after his retirement, is leaving no avenue to Malala-ise it. But somehow, I do not comprehend the achievements of Malala. She has been allegedly hit by a bullet by some unknown characters. Those characters have not been apprehended and it remains a mystery whether she did get the bullet or not? This episode is so quick and so fast that a common man in the street asks what good Malala has done for him to also follow her path to fame and recognition by the government.
Is Malala related to someone we do not know of? Did Malala write a piece of superb literature? Is Malala a hoax created for some other ulterior motive? I am sure she has not done anything extra-ordinary. Or at least, the architect of Malala saga has failed to highlight those marvelous things that Malala seemed to have done? Elections are near. This shaheed theory worked very effectively in 2008. Now in 2012, we do not have anyone to shaheed. Aseffa and Bakhtawar are too naïve and Bilawal is the only one left over half-Bhutto. Is Malala, a ‘nearly shaheed’, theory concocted to earn the a few more votes?
