Supreme Court has given three weeks time to Member National Assembly (MNA) Rai Ghulam Mujtaba Kharral to present original certificate of renunciation of Canadian nationality.
A 3-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the proceedings of dual nationality case on Thursday.
The Court asked Rai Ghulam Mujtaba Kharral, “Whether he has submitted affidavit in Election Commission of Pakistan regarding dual nationalities of the Parliamentarian”.
Kharral told SC that he has submitted affidavit to the Election Commission of Pakistan.
He requested the court to grant him three weeks time in order to submit the original certificate of renunciation of his Canadian nationality.
The SC granted him desired time and subsequently adjourned the hearing for three weeks.
