LHC sends cough syrup accused on four-day physical remand

The Lahore High Court on Tuesday sent the three arrested persons, accused of involvement in sale of the poisonous cough syrup that killed at least 16 people in Lahore, on a four-day physical remand.
Judicial Magistrate Wakeel Anjum heard the case pertaining to the sale of poisonous cough syrup that killed at least 16 people in Lahore.
An initial autopsy report of two the deceased victims was submitted in court.
Police informed the court that a case had been registered under sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code after 16 people died of consuming poisonous cough syrup and that three suspects, including a distributor and two shopkeepers, were taken into custody
Police produced the suspects in court and requested for a seven-day physical remand for further investigations.
The court after hearing the initial hearing sent the suspects into custody of Shahdara Town police on a four-day physical remand.
