People to resist any bid to delay elections: Liaquat Baloch


The Jamaat-e- Islami (JI) central secretary general Liaquat Baloch on Tuesday said the people of the country would strongly resist if President Asif Ali Zardari tried to delay general elections for giving protection his post of Presidency.
Talking to media persons here, the JI leader said general polls could not be delayed due to prevailing of supremacy of law and independent judiciary in the country.
He said holding of impartial and free and fair elections in the county was only solution of entire challenges being faced by the country.
Liaquat Baloch said participation of political parties in the general elections could strengthen the democratic system in the country, adding that political parties should not boycott the elections because the victory and defeat in the polls was a part of election process.
