Chinese leadership cherish friendship with Pakistan: Liu Jian

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Liu Jian said that Sino-Pakistan relationship were based on solid grounds with popular public support and there could be no effect on the depth and warmth of their friendly relationship, even with the change of leadership or any other development in the regional and international arena.
The love and affection enjoyed by the two countries was rooted in the hearts of the people, he said while briefing newsmen on the 18th Party National Congress at the Chinese Embassy. He said that the new leadership would look forward to playing a greater role in deepening their ties in all spheres of life.
The Chinese leadership cherished its friendship with Pakistan and hoped that the two countries would continue working together in serving common interests of the people. He said that China highly appreciated Pakistan’s role and sacrifices in combating terrorism. “Sino-Pak partnership serves the fundamental interests of our people and is good for peace, stability and development of the region,” he said, adding that they would enhance their coordination on issues of common interests.
Underlining the need to boost economic ties, the ambassador said that they would exploit all available resources and potential for this purpose. The two countries could enhance their collaboration in important fields, like energy, construction, agriculture and telecommunication. Jian further said that the two countries would maintain high-level visits as well as strengthen people-to-people contacts to deepen their ties in all sectors. We would welcome greater interaction among the youth of the countries, he added.
