Five TTP terrorists arrested from Lahore
Lahore police has claimed to have arrested five terrorist belonging to the banned terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan(TTP).
As per Lahore police officials’ statement, heavy ammunition was also recovered from their custody. Lahore police has further claimed that the arrested men were involved in the Rasool Park and the Babu Saabu Interchange tragedy.
Talking to media representatives on Wednesday, Inspector General (IG) Punjab Haji Habib-ur-Rehman stated that the arrested terrorists belonged to the TTP’s Qari Yaseen’s faction. He added that the arrested men had claimed the responsibility of the Rasool Park tragedy.
Talking about security conditions with respect to Islamic month of Muharram, IG Punjab stated that strict security measures had been implemented province wide and anyone giving out sectarian sermons would be arrested.
Answering a question with respect to extortion, IG Punjab said that no reported case of the crime had emerged from within the province.
