Pakistan’s economic hub continues to bleed on Tuesday as unabated violence claimed two more lives in the city.
Police said two people were killed and another injured in Karachi’s Orangi Town locality this afternoon when unknown armed men riding a motorbike fired shots on them in a bazaar.
The victims were identified as Bashir and Gul. Gul was a pushcart vendor. Another person Shahid suffered bullet wounds and was rushed to hospital.
Shops and business activities were closed in the area following the broad daylight murders which took place despite a ban on pillion riding in the city and heavy deployment of Rangers and police in the violence-hit locality.
More than 40 people have been killed over the past two days, with over 1800 dead so far this year in acts of targeted killings and other violence.
