Delegation attends training course at US

A Pakistani delegation comprising of officials of Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan and representatives of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) Lahore, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology Islamabad and NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi attended a two weeks training course in the United States (US).
This training course was conducted with the technical support of USA Commercial Law Development Program, USA States Department of Commerce and USAID. During the course, the participants were apprised about different legal aspects of research commercialization for promotion of entrepreneurship. The participants also visited leading US universities including Princeton University, Oklahoma State University and Carnegie Mellon University which had been playing a major role in the promotion of entrepreneurship. The Pakistani delegation studied technology transfer mechanism during the training program.
The delegates termed the visit very useful, informative and vowed to promote entrepreneurial culture within Pakistani universities through helping and guiding educated youth in establishing new technology based companies and business avenues. They also shared the view that the entrepreneurial activities could reduce poverty by creating new jobs and could also improve exports by value addition and innovation of new products to the market.
