No pause for violence

The spell of violence could not be curbed in the metropolis during the three days of the Eidul Azha, as at least seven persons were killed in different areas of the city.
According to police sources, the body of a man was recovered in the remit of Pak Colony Police Station near Mewa Shah Cemetery on Monday. The deceased was abducted and shot to death after torture.
The body of another man was found from Lassi Goth area of Malir. He was shot dead.
Likewise, body of a youth was recovered from under the bridge linking Gharibabad and Eesa Nagri. The deceased was shot to death after he was abducted and subjected to severe torture. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
30-year-old Abdul Ghafoor was gunned down by unknown miscreants in Manghopir area of Kanwari Colony.
A youth identified as Jahanzeb was killed in a shooting incident in Lasipara area of Malir. The victim received three bullets in the chest, police said.
Unknown gunmen opened fire in Nazimabad-II, injuring Mehmood and Ejaz. Both were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where Mehmood, 35, succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
In another incident, a person was gunned down within the limits of Sukhun Police Station.
Meanwhile, relatives of a man allegedly shot dead by Rangers, staged a protest demonstration in Karachi on Monday.
The 30-year-old victim was father of three children.
Angry family members surrounded Sukhan Police Station and called for the arrest of the Rangers official involved in the shooting.
Shia man killed

Terrorists murdered another Shia man in Karachi last night, on the second day of Eid ul Azha. 37-year-old Syed Mehmood Ali was targeted near Nafees Chamber, Nazimabad No.2 central district of Karachi around 2:00 am. He died on the spot and the body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy. Ali was an active member of Shia Muslim community of Karachi. He was a printer and remained at the service of Maumineen throughout his life. His funeral prayer would be held after Isha prayers at Shah-e-Karbala Imam Bargah Old Rizvia Society Nazimabad. Shia parties and leaders condemned his targeted murder. They demanded from the government to launch an operation against the excommunicative terrorists of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi/Sipah-e-Sahaba who had been renamed as Ahl-e-Sunnat wal Jamaat.
