Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday maintained his stance of a non-military solution saying the use of force afforded no solution to any issue. Asserting that hearts and minds of the people had to be won over to end terrorism, Khan told CNN in an interview that the missile strikes should be halted immediately. Khan claimed that his party would sweep the upcoming general elections, adding that youths in large numbers supported PTI and once the electoral process began, his party’s success would become clear to all. Commenting on the US presidential elections, the former cricketer turned politician said, “I want an anti-war president. I’ve prayed for Obama because I wanted him to stop this insanity called the war on terror.”

  1. IK is an idiot – he wants to sign "NRO" with Talibans – how rude and pathetic approach he has – on the contrary IK does not wants to talk with politicians but want everyone to talk with Talibans ???? utter nonsense.

  2. This is quite common attitude of Pakistani politicians when they are powerless they are one who are against show of force but as soon as they are entered in power houses they start campaigning use of force as mandatory survival option for whole nation. This is what ANP, PPP and MQM is preaching for last 5 years to whole nation.
IK should review even Musharraf these days are following same political statements who is responsible of this hell like situation in Pakistan

  3. Corrupt politicians are afraid of Imran Khan because he will expose their corruption thats why they opposing IK. Imran Khan all peace loving, anti-corruption, educated, faithful, and respected are with you. Don't give preference to these few corrupt and ill-minded people. May Allah give you courage to eliminate all the evils from our country.

  4. Taliban shooting and killing innocent people does not have to do anything with the drone attacks and everything to do with their twisted idiology. How can some relate shooting innocent kids to drone attacks?

  5. Wake up IK, you are not understanding, the nation's consent.
No one wants to support these barbaric talibans, as they are not supposed to be named as Muslims (they are murtids).

  6. Can this man not see the plethora of projects undertaken both by the Army as well as the Civil government for emancipation of the masses in Swat, SWA etc. Where does he get this bird brained idea that Use of Force is the only option being utilized right now. What a disappointment you are IK.

  7. Dear Pakistan Today you are obviously under threats from the same forces who want to impose thier beliefs onto others, if this the case then don't print News Papers go into another line of business. Otherwise print comments to let people voice their feelings.

  8. When one lives abroad one is dependent on the media for information. The other day i was privilged to see Mr Imran on the PTV taking on Mr Talat. With due respect to Imran i was dissappointed. ONe minute he was trying to be Mandela of Pakistan—papering over the problems in Wazirstan and contending that once the drone attacks stopped everything will fall into place. The tribesman should be left alone to sort out the militants amongst them.
Next you become a nationalist and would refuse all aid from US which no Govt ever in Pakistan has ever contemplated. Perhaps he does not remember the war in 1965 when Pakistan had almost run short of ammunition. Imran maintains he has spent more than 15 years in West and understands it better than anyone else.In what way may i ask. His answers were evasive, muddled and standard. Mr Talat repeatedly put him on the spot but imran stuck to a almost prepared text.

  9. I write as a supporter of PTI but please Imran do youe homework well. Perceptions and reality count. Perception i got was that you are soft on Taliban in general–what is the reality? I agree we should give peace a chance but not from a point of weakness. I unerstand your predicament Let not your dream end in greek tragedy.
Finally you admire Mr JInnah and Mr .Alama Iqbal. Would they have agreed with you? The former was secularist. Are you a secularist ? Please give a example. Thank you Mr .Talat you did your profession proud.

Ask him to grow beard. He would look more authentic …
      .
and, then, you would be able to come out of the closet and provide open support for your taliban-brass bedfello …
