A key commander of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Tariq Afridi, has been reportedly killed by his brother-in-law over a domestic issue in Khyber Agency, media reported on Wednesday. According to sources, Afridi, who headed the banned outfit in the agency, was shot dead by his brother-in-law over land dispute. Sources said that Afridi was riding a horse and was on his way when his brother in law opened fire on him on Tuesday, killing Afridi on the spot.
As a Taliban commander, he was involved in several terror attacks on security forces and civilians across the country. The TTP commander was also involved in the kidnapping of late Polish engineer and in several other incidents of kidnapping for ransom, along with other terrorist activities in the country. Afridi was also reported to be a member of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. The TTP has not confirmed the report regarding the killing of their key commander.
