Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has said that seeking time from the judiciary for writing letter to Swiss authorities was like a joke with the apex court, country and the nation.
Talking to reporters at the residence of renowned actress Zeba in Lahore, he said the judiciary was doing its job with a true sense of responsibility by keeping in view the rule of law and the constitution.
“If the government had respect for the constitution, circumstances would not have gone to this extent,” he said, adding that the government had been under-estimating the judiciary for four and a half years. He said the government had not learnt any lesson from the past, and if judicial orders were not implemented, then the prime minister would be disqualified.
Nawaz said the government had not yet accepted the independent judiciary, as it wants “Dogar courts”. He said the rulers say one thing and do the opposite.
The PML-N chief said that elections would be held in the next three to six months, and by making amendments in the constitution for caretaker setup, his party had done a great service to the country.
He said his party had no objection over the commission to form new provinces, but added that any decision in this regard should be taken on mandate. He strongly supported the creation of Hazara province. He said the government had picked its favorite people for the commission, adding that the official institutions were being used to serve the vested interests of some people who had nothing to do with the issues of the nation. He said that he and Shahbaz Sharif had taken notice of Sardar Dost Mohammad Khosa’s press conference, and had spoken to Sardar Zulfikar Khosa. He did not respond to the statement of Javed Hashmi’s statement on Sunday in which his former aide threatened to start exposing PML-N leaders.
On energy crisis, Nawaz said that if the government had taken it seriously, at least 50 percent crisis would have been resolved. “We have a comprehensive plan; if we are allowed to come to the power, we would try our best to tackle the issue at every cost,” he said.

  2. Mind it Mian Saheb.Honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan is an free and independent institution of the country and is not governed by any political or personality.Whatever they decided, they know better than anybody thinks.Plz be sober and try to respect the Sc.Let the ppp led governemnt be happy at the moment, otherwise they start prapogate and try to mislead the innocent nation of the country,At present LOlly Pop is injected.Do not worry Allah will do the best.

  3. The PTI fans come early on duty and find all the PMLn related posts to make disgraceful comments first up.
However, I see things the way they are without party affiliations. And what I see is that Nawaz’s stance about judiciary has remained unchanged since 2007 which makes me believe that he is quite upright against PPP unlike Imran Khan and his party who are just playing games with the public, making tall claims. Just like “Look busy, do nothing”

  4. Judiciary is playing and wasting time of nations.
Why they 1st allowed president to assume the office?
Why they waited for 04 years and now asking for letter?
There is no justice in pakistan

  5. LOL, look who is talking? his gangsters attached SC in day light. CJ is his puppet who cleared him from all charges. such a Drama…..Poor Pakistan!!!

  6. Look who is talking about honor of judiciary. Don’t you remember that the capital police have issued notices to the PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif and the Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, asking them to appear before the senior superintendent of police within 10 days, in connection with the 1997 attack on the SC. Mr Nawaz Sharif did all this out of ego and in abuse of his power. The SC had appointed five new judges, on which it was criticised by Mr Sharif. When a contempt of court notice was issued to the then prime minister Mr Sharif, his party workers stormed the SC building. Most of the analysts believed that Mr Sharif’s conflict with the Chief Justice, Mr Sajjad Ali Shah, in which the prime minister was accused of contempt of court, had reached a point of no return. The dispute between Mr Sharif and the Chief Justice had become personal, and that it was then impossible for them to reconcile their differences. Supporters of this theory were of the view that the incessant arguments between the two men had undermined their authority. Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry should have taken suo motu of this case too for the sake of the sanctity of the SC. Police officers need to be sincere with their profession and they should help the interior minister to present the culprits. Prime Minister Gilani appeared thrice in the court; he respected the courts and he did not order his jiyalas to storm the SC and as a result, no untoward incident happened. How is it possible that the MNAs of a ruling party (the PML-N in 1997) and political secretary of a prime minister organise an unruly mob to attack the SC without the approval of their boss? At least in Pakistan it is not possible because we have a fragile democratic setup and a paucity of democratic institutions.

  7. Pakistan is in this mess right now because of nawaz and his friendly opposition. If he had played his role properly, things could have been different. We'll need a big rope to hang his fat ass.
