A man was killed and another injured when unidentified militants opened fire on three NATO containers near Teddy Bazaar in Jamrud tehsil of Khyber agency on Tuesday. Officials said three containers, loaded with supplies for NATO were on way to Afghanistan when they were attacked in Jamrud. Witnesses confirmed that one of the drivers was killed and another was left injured. All three vehicles were partially damaged in the ambush. Two containers also went missing after the attack for which search was underway. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but officials believed Taliban, who have been voicing their angst over the reopening of supplies to foreign forces in Afghanistan, might have launched the attack. The body of the deceased driver was shifted to the office of Jamrud assistant political agent, while the injured was admitted to a hospital. It was the first attack on NATO supply vehicles following the restoration of NATO supplies on July 4. Meanwhile, security forces continued aerial strikes against militants in the inaccessible Tirrah Valley of both Khyber and Orakzai agencies.
