The Provincial Minister for Prisons, Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar, has said that no compromise would be made on rates and quality of items of daily use in Ramazan Bazaars, whereas, strict action would be taken by the administration, against shopkeepers involved in unscrupulous dealings. He said that no one who demeaned the sacredness of Ramazan was to be spared, and appealed to the people to inform the administration about any suspicious elements. The Minister expressed these views while conducting surprise visits to Ramzan Bazaars, set up in Bahawalpur. Channar said that all Ramazan Bazaars are operating in an exemplary manner, as essential items, fruits and vegetables, are being sold at affordable rates to citizens. He said that regular monitoring of all Ramazan Bazaars is being conducted, and if any buyer has a complaint, he can inform the administration on the spot. He said that a cautious and well behaved staff has been deputed, whereas free parking space has been provided at the Bazaars. The Minister said that foolproof security arrangements have been made in Bahawalpur, and the patrolling system has been made more effective. He said that police, district peace and mosque committees and national volunteers have been deputed to perform duties in holy month of Ramazan.
