Many restaurants in the provincial capital are putting their customers’ health at risk by selling substandard food in dirty dishware and unhygienic environments, all the while charging prices according to their will.
Besides serving foot in dirty dishes, most restaurants serve unfiltered drinking water. The utensils used to deliver food are even worse, not being properly washed and being used by a large number of people, included patients with viral diseases.
Such dingy eateries exist everywhere in the city. Despite a difference in the cost of food and service charges, the hygiene conditions are almost the same at all restaurants. A customer said that crockery used to serve food to customers at restaurants was cracked and unwashed and the water was unfiltered. He added that cooking pans were also not washed properly.
Another customer said that the authorities had not defined any specific food prices in the city while restaurants owners continued to overcharge and serve food of a deteriorating standard.
