On traffic rules

Rules are made for the betterment of the society and when they are not followed properly, multiple problems rise up on the surface. The traffic rules are also of great significant as they for the safety of the people. These are the rules that make a person operate around a specific boundary. But when we look around our society, it reflects that these rules are specific to some places with an operational behaviour. The best example in this regard is that of the motorway where everyone tries their best to follow the rules. The main reason behind this practice is the proper functioning of the institution. Strict penalties are levied on the motorway routes which help in its proper functioning. I have observed frequently that when the drivers leave motorway, all the rules and regulations are put aside.
This is a different behaviour from other parts of country where no heed is paid to traffic rules. The provincial authorities have not trained their traffic staff according to the latest trends and as a result a non-serious approach prevails. This weak enforcement of traffic rules has lead to many accidents. It is the need of the hour to improve our traffic police institution so that people follow the rules. It is needed to formulate such policies that could help in building better traffic institution at provincial level.
