Setting state’s status

Resumption of NATO supply linen through Pakistan is now only a matter of time as the persons at the helm have finally decided to do so. Following the course adopted by their predecessors, the present government also kept the tradition of unqualified obedience and subservience to its foreign lord alive. Perhaps, the glare of dollars always prevails over every other national consideration. So has been the story of this poor country since its inception without any significant exception. It seems a situation as reflected by a famous couplet of the Mir Taqi Mir:” Be it me, be it you or be it Mir; All have become entangled with her tresses.”
The phraseology like the national dignity, pride and honour seem to be the redundancy and anachronism altogether in the context of present state policy and standings. The government is now portraying and justifying the step of reopening NATO supply line in the context of broader national security interests. National sovereignty and territorial integrity are considered the key elements of national interest according to the basic and popular concept of modern political philosophy. Our great lords have played havoc with the both by moving his ally in the war of terror from front-line to the firing-line.
All Asian economic success stories from China to Japan are necessarily based on indigenous efforts and self-reliance. It is now a universally recognised fact that aid and begging would get anyone nowhere. Allama Iqbal is said to be the person whole firstly conceived the idea for our motherland. The most significant idea of his political philosophy and central theme of his all poetry has been the “Khudi”, upon which he emphasized greatly. Khudi is generally attributed to the self-recognition, self-respect and self-pride. Regrettably, we have not only ignored the teachings of our founding fathers but at the same time have, also, publicly auctioned our Khudi and national pride by resorting to the status of “international beggar”. We often go to any extent when it comes to the borrowing and getting aid from others.
