ISLAMABAD – Pelted with stones by protesting vendors and shopkeepers, Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) 2 guards were injured during an anti-encroachment operation at G-9 Markaz on Wednesday. Protesters also damaged CDA vehicles that took part in the operation launched by the civic body’s Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA).
The operation was launched simultaneously at G-9 Markaz (Karachi Company), Aabpara Market and G-10 Markaz. DMA Assistant Director Riaz said CDA had lodged a complaint with Margalla Police Station against motor mechanic Aamer on charge of instigating protesters to attack CDA staff and vehicles.
