FAISALABAD – After a student’s suicide attempt due to humiliation in the name of ‘fooling’ by senior students, the management of NFC Institute of Engineering and Fertilizers Research is isolating the victim from the media instead of taking disciplinary action against those responsible for the incident.
Reportedly, the NFC authorities, using their personal influence, got the victim Shahid discharged from the district headquarters hospital and removed his medical record and emergency admission chart from the hospital’s record.
The victim was shifted to an unknown location to hide him from the media while no information has been given to his family in Wazirabad.
The victim who recently joined the NFC Institute as a student of mechanical engineering fractured both of his legs after jumping down from the first floor of the NFC Institute’s hostel building when he was humiliated by senior students under a ‘fooling drama’.
A number of students and teachers, on the condition of anonymity, said the NFC management was aware of the rudeness of the seniors towards new students but they took no action to stop this ridiculous tradition that crossed all the limits of decency.
