After a long interval, the United States continued with a drone strike in North Waziristan. This was followed by an immediate statement released by the Foreign Office which condemned this act. The question is: why isn’t the government taking action? In a sovereign state, the drone would have been shot down.
A major portion of the budget is spent on our defence. What is the use of doing so if our country continues to face humiliation in the world?
It suggests that either the military is not competent enough to take action or is just not interested. Our political elite are certainly not capable of taking action.

1, Obviously the US is not using drones just for fun, there is some purpose. Purpose is to uproot terrorists in the tribal areas without stepping on ground.
2, If Pakistan is capable to uproot them by itself, then there is no need for drone attacks. We all know our army has failed to contain the Taliban, reasons are debatable: army not equipped & trained to fight mountainous battles, strategic policy to fight a lukewarm war or whatever.
3, We have limited choices: aerial bombardment or drone attacks. Obviously drones shall be preferred in view of no or limited collateral damages.
4, The US has declared that drone attacks to continue even after 2014. Now its up to us: do the job ourselves or get this be done by others!
