The Punjab government has decided not to extend protocol facilities to Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani during his visit to Punjab after his conviction by the Supreme Court in the contempt of court case.
Meanwhile, the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Nisar Ali Khan has decided not to engage in consultations on the appointment of the chief election commissioner with Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani after his conviction by the Supreme Court. Sources said Nisar told Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaders Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore on Friday that the prime minister contacted him over the telephone and again during the National Assembly session and spoke about the appointment of the new chief election commissioner.
The PML-N leaders told Nisar that as Gilani had been convicted by the Supreme Court and the party did not recognise him as prime minister, the leader of the opposition should not consult him over the appointment of the chief election commissioner. Nisar also took the Sharifs into confidence over his telephonic interaction with Fazlur Rehman, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Salim Saifullah and Senator Mir Hasil Bizenjo and informed them that the opposition parties would devise their course of action over the situation arising after the conviction of Gilani in their meetings soon.

  1. Very childish…

How do you picture these guys a dignitary of national/international stature…

  2. We need another General. Not kiayani the coward though. Someone with guts. Someone who has the courage to hang all the ppp and pml leaders (preferably in public).

  3. not that I'm at all an admirer of Mr Gilani, but the Sharif brothers are the stupidest most immature 'politicians' ever.

  4. Nothing new of this sort, as the so-called ‘Shareefs’ are used to this type of ill-behaviour. Most of the reader will recall Nawaz Sharif’s attitude towards BB during the late 80’s. Its replica by the younger stoop.

  5. Protocols are a thing of the past. It should be done away with for all. Zardari, Gillani, Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif. The 700 policeman on duty in and around Raiwind be used elsewhere and the huge transport fleet at the disposal of the PPP/PML(N) leaders be disbanded.Who will do this?

  6. WHAT NONSENSE??? A PM IS ALSO A CITIZEN AND A DEMOCRACY WOULD TREAT ALL THE CITIZENS ALIKE. SO WHY DO U NEED A PROTOCOL TO DEAL WITH THE PM?? DEAL WITH HIM LIKE THE LAW WOULD DEAL WITH ANY OTHER "LAW-BREAKING" CITIZEN.
