Commissioner visits Adiala Jail

Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Amdad Ullah Bosal on the special instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has visited the Central Adiala Jail to review security arrangements and to check food being provided to the jail inmates. The Commissioner was received by Senior Superintendent Jail, Malik Mushtaq Awan. He was also briefed about the security arrangements and steps taken with the cooperation of local police authorities to ensure foolproof security arrangements for the protection of the jail so that no untoward incident like Bannu jail could take place here. The commissioner expressing his satisfaction over the security arrangements said all out efforts would be made for the provision of more facilities in the jail so that the jail inmates could be provided better environment and made useful citizens of the society.
He also inspected the jail kitchen and said more efforts should be made to provide prisoners healthy food. Malik Mushtaq Ahmed during briefing informed that in addition to deployment of regular force, Police, Rangers and Elite Force troops have also been given the security task for the Adiala Jail. The commissioner expressed his satisfaction over the solid steps taken in this connection. Talking to APP Amdad Ullah Bosal said a comprehensive report about Adiala jail would be sent to the CM Secretariat.
Four hotels fined for unhygienic conditions: Islamabad Assistant Director Food Muhammad Afzal conducted surprise checking of hotels in I-8 Markaz, Mughal market and imposed fines amounting Rs 15,000 on four hotels and restaurants for unhygienic conditions of their kitchens.
He also issued warning to the owners for immediately improving their conditions failing which stern action would be taken against the defaulters. The spokesman of district administration said Assistant Director (Food) fined four restaurants which included Shahi Restaurant, Haleem Ghar, Habibi restaurant and Stylish Restaurant.
He also took samples of food items from hotels and sent them laboratory for quality testing. During the course of price checking in the market, he imposed fines on the profiteers for not displaying the rate list of fruits and vegetables. He said administration has been issuing rate list of fruits and vegetables on daily basis and shopkeepers have been asked to ensure display of rate list of food items which is issued for implementation by the administration.
