It seems like every day, when I pick up the newspaper, I come across a lot of religious text and pictures printed in it. There are advertisements, pictures, Quranic verses written in advertisements and pictures of Holy Ka’abah are printed in newspaper. Even some time Prophet’s mosque and even Ahadis are printed by newspaper themselves. This type of printing containing increasing in religious matters, even more on special occasions like Eid Milad-un-NAbi etc.
Everyone knows that what happens with newspaper once they are printed and distributed. Firstly, the hawkers who supply them to our homes and offices, throw the newspapers on the floor as they move from one house to another. The people, most of the time, aren’t even aware of the fact that the newspaper which they are using for so many different purposes such as cleaning, wrapping, making packets out of it, are simply thrown away. This is completely irrational and inconsiderate attitude towards religion and it also means openly dishonoring all the religious text or pictures which have been published in the newspaper.
Therefore it is my humble request to all the newspaper editors to be careful and show respect to such religious texts while publishing them in the newspapers.
