Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Punjab government will continue to complete the projects speedily aimed at providing quality facilities to the masses without caring for the criticism over public welfare projects.
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Muhammad Ali Johar Sports Complex in Johar Town on Sunday. Provincial Minister for Auqaf Haji Ehsan-un-Din Qureshi, National and Provincial Assembly members, commissioner and district coordination officer, PHA director general, sports lovers and a large number of players were also present on the occasion. Addressing the function, Shahbaz said healthy minds constitute a healthy nation. He said sports promoted high values like sportsman spirit and tolerance in people. He said Punjab government was constructing sports grounds of international standard for providing best sports facilities to the youth and was promoting healthy activities all over the province. He said the youth by taking benefit from sports facilities not only win laurels for the country and the nation but also play their effective role in building a new Pakistan. Shahbaz said the Punjab government was moving ahead speedily for providing best recreational facilities to the masses and promoting sports activities, adding that parks were being beautified throughout the province. He announced that Punjab would be made the province of sports and flowers. While congratulating the district administration and PHA for constructing sports complex of international standard in Johar Town, Shahbaz Sharif said the construction of hockey stadium had also started in Johar Town and an Astroturf will also be laid in this stadium. He said there was disappointment among the youth with regard to provision of sports facilities but opportunities of progress are providing to them through best and quality sports facilities. He said Punjab government was taking concrete measures for promoting sports. He said provision of such facilities will yield positive results and constitute a healthy society. International Cricket Empire Aleem Dar addressing the function said Shahbaz was creating a new hope and infusing the spirit of progress among youth by providing sports facilities. He said players would be produced by taking benefit from these facilities who will win laurels for the country and the nation at international level. Earlier, the CM unveiled the plaque of Muhammad Ali Johar Sports Complex.
