Supreme Court (SC) Monday directed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Bin Yamin Khan to produce within two weeks a report regarding the recovery of a youth Umar Wali.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry heard a case regarding missing persons, a private TV channel reported.
Justice Khilji Arif Hussain remarked that the Constitution needs to be amended if the spy agencies were to run the national affairs.
Meantime, the Chief Justice Chaudhry said there is no leniency for the anti-state elements and the criminals, adding the incidents regarding the missing persons are not coming to an end.
Justice Khilji noted nobody will be allowed to function beyond the lawful domain; hence, secret agencies, if willing to run the country, should get the Constitution amended.
Appearing before the bench, the IG Islamabad Khan said police takes extra care to recover the abducted person safe and sound, as his life, to the police, is highly valued.
The court directed the IG Bin Yamin to present the report over the issue within two weeks.
